New report highlights how State's provision system fails asylum seekers
Cover image for One Size Doesn't Fit All_main reportFLAC launched a report detailing massive shortcomings in the State's system of direct provision and dispersal of asylum seekers on 18 February 2010 in Dublin.Entitled One Size Doesn't Fit All, the report analyses the state's treatment of asylum seekers awaiting decisions on their status and highlights the system's failure to respect the basic human rights of people who have come to Ireland for protection from persecution in their home countries. It calls for the abolition of the system but, failing this, asks the government to operate the system with greater transparency and accountability and to respect the fundamental human rights of those in the system. You can download the report and executive summary at www.flac.ie http://www.flac.ie/download/pdf/one_size_doesnt_fit_all_full_report_final.pdf http://www.flac.ie/download/pdf/one_size_doesnt_fit_all_exec_summary_final.pdf Thanks,Saoirse Saoirse BradyPolicy and Campaigns Officer FLAC (Free Legal Advice Centres Ltd.)13 Lr Dorset Street, Dublin 1Tel: 01-8873600 Fax: 01-874 5320LoCall: 1890-350 250 Web: http://www.flac.ie Free Legal Advice Centres Ltd is a company limited by guarantee not having a share capital, registered in Dublin, Ireland.
