There is so much going on at CFCP in the last week of April that we have decided to summarise it for you in a short update. We’re featuring contemporary avant-garde and oriental multi-instrumental concerts, our regular and really cool Wednesday jazz jam session, an event to promote your upcoming artistic programme and network with other creative people. Our current artistic workshops include oriental music, illustration, composition, and jazz guitar. All this is happening in one week! There's definitely something for everyone to enjoy. 5 LAMPS FESITVAL CONCERT: Lucjan WesolowskiSaturday 24 @ 8. 30 pm Concert by a multi-instrumentalist Lucjan Wesolowski, described as “relaxing and delightfully refreshing at the same time”. Lucjan blends jazz, Oriental, Latin and Indian influences to create a contemporary world sound that sets him apart from his peers. Enjoy a glass of wine and Indian spirit. COMPONENTS SERIES: Cathal Roche Sunday, 25 April @ 6pmSaxaphonist Cathal Roche closes our Components Series presenting new works by a group of Irish composers. Each week a collection of New Irish music has been written and performed, then recorded, developed and used to accompany a musician at another performance in the series. TELL THE WORLD! 26 April from 7pm till 9pmThe last Monday of every month CFCP invites the art world to our gallery to meet, pitch events and make friends and professional contacts with other arts professionals in Dublin, and our wide audience, in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.Organisations will get a chance to become faces, ideas can be discussed and collaborations agreed. JAZZ & BLUES JAM NIGHT Wednesdays 8:00 - 11pm For percussion, guitar, double bass and all other instruments!Sessions are open to everyone, including those who like to listen. Please keep in mind this is an informal playing event with no preset program or tune list.If you are just learning, you are welcome to hang out, listen, follow along, ask questions, and/or observe those who have been at it a little while longer. LINOCUT WORKSHOP SERIES, ENHANCE YOUR PRINTMAKING SKILLS by MARTA WAKULA MAC1 May from 11am - 40pm €50We are delighted to announce a series of linocut workshops by Marta Wakula-Mac, a highly experienced artist in this field. If you would like to learn the printmaking practice, a variety of lines, different textures, negative and positive images, how to apply ink and much more, do not miss this workshop. The workshop will be run once a month on a Saturday or Sunday, starting from Saturday 1 Mayl from 11am till 4pm.Marta Wakula-Mac - member of Graphic Studio Dublin and has exhibited both nationally and internationally, illustrator of Susan Knight’s book Gommorah (2007), regularly published in The Stinging Fly Magazine, among others Arts Council Awardee.For more information click here >>
