'Show Racism the Red Card with its volunteers from within and outside Ireland are hosting a unique Intercultural Summer Camp in Glencolmcille, Co Donegal for 5days and 5nights from 5-10th July. The camp is an Intercultural Learning and Fun experience for boys and girls from 12yrs to 15yrs of age from Ireland north and south for young people Irish and non-Irish. The cost is €175 and includes return transport. The cost of each place has been kept low due to the commitment of our volunteers' Young people will have the opportunity to learn languages, games, songs, dances and many aspects of different cultures. The purpose of the camp is to bring young people from different backgrounds from Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland who are Irish and non-Irish together to promote intercultural learning and integration as well as a memorable fun experience. Co-ordinator for Show Racism the Red Card Garrett Mullan said: 'We hope it is a great success. We have recruited some wonderful volunteers and the location is magestic to say the least. By the end of the week, young people will have learned Irish, Indian and Russian dancing. They will have built a currach boat and sailed it and they will use the internet to talk to young people in similar camps in other countries and much more.

We chose Aras Ghleann Cholm Cille because it is a unique facility offering accommodation, sports and adventure. The idea for the camp came from learning through experience participating in an Intercultural Camp in Cheboksary in Russia last year. For them the intercultural experience was from the games and activities delivered by foreign volunteers. However we have volunteers from Russia, Latvia, Germany, Algeria and Ireland, who all live in Ireland. We even have two volunteers planning to travel from Cheboksary, Russia for our camp. That is the diversity of volunteers, not to mention the diversity among the children.

Donegal is favourable territory to be promoting the intercultural message of Show Racism the Red Card. The activities of the Local Sports Partnership, Finn Harps FC have been well received around the county. Also from Raphoe, St Eunans National School Raphoe beat off competition from 61 other schools and youth services to win the Show Racism the Red Card Creative Competition Parents are asked to book early so as not to be disappointed. We have up to 15 volunteers participating and we still have a number volunteers we would like to recruit.
