CTRL+Click for directionsTime: 10:00am to 1:30 pm (lunch will be provided) Date: Saturday, October 10th Venue: One Parent Exchange and Network, 7 Red Cow Lane, Smithfield, Dublin 7.Time: 10:00am to 1:30 pm (lunch will be provided) About ERAERA is a coalition of over 130 NGOs, trade unions, academics and individual activists established initially in 2008 to challenge Government cuts to the Equality Authority and Human Rights Commission. This is not a good time for equality and human rights in Ireland. ERA believes that the Government has used the cover of financial cutbacks to mount a targeted attack on Irish equality, rights and social justice bodies for severe cuts. This undermines the ability of those bodies to assist people experiencing inequality and discrimination to vindicate their rights. The aims of our workshop: To inform you about the ERA campaign and our work to hold Government to account for its cuts to the equality and human rights bodies, To gather information about the concerns of local groups on how cuts are affecting your work to combat discrimination and promote equality and how we can add your concerns to the ERA campaign, To outline the practical support that properly functioning watchdog bodies can provide to help people vindicate their rights, To look at practical campaigning to help ensure that the equality and human rights infrastructure is strengthened and improved for people experiencing inequality and discrimination. Who we want to meet? Those with an interest in and commitment to equality, human rights and social justice. People who are experiencing inequality and discrimination.
