Flac report

Below is a summary and links to download the just launched Flac report One Size Doesn't Fit All which offers a Human Rights analysis the Direct Provision and Dispersal System of Asylum Seekers– both the full report and summary report are available on the flac website as per below – www.flac.ie It was launched alongside a screening of the Digital Stories Pact: Living In Direct Provision 9 Stories which was produced by Fomac in collaboration with Integrating Ireland and the Refugee Information Service (ISICI) from a digital storytelling workshop over a 6-month period. The stories speak to a variety of issues affecting asylum seekers and families living in the direct provision system and are accompanied by an educational pack. The Report is also due to be launched with a screening in Limerick this Monday morning. We hope then to review with Flac the possibility of other regional events in the coming months. New report highlights how State's provision system fails asylum seekers
Cover image for One Size Doesn't Fit All_main reportFLAC launched a report detailing massive shortcomings in the State's system of direct provision and dispersal of asylum seekers on 18 February 2010 in Dublin.Entitled One Size Doesn't Fit All, the report analyses the state's treatment of asylum seekers awaiting decisions on their status and highlights the system's failure to respect the basic human rights of people who have come to Ireland for protection from persecution in their home countries. It calls for the abolition of the system but, failing this, asks the government to operate the system with greater transparency and accountability and to respect the fundamental human rights of those in the system.You can download the report and executive summary at
